Emergency Raise & Lower Tool

Challenge

To create a very compact and lightweight tool capable of a 6m raise or lower of a person but can be carried on a belt and is easy to use requiring minimal training and effort.

Development

Creating initial concept ideas, sketch how the product would operate and then create digital models for consideration and printing leading to working prototypes, which could be evaluated and refined.

Solution

By selecting a 6mm diameter rope with high strength and durable construction as the preferred lifeline and adding pulley blocks to the top and bottom, the lift and lower being assisted by incorporating an ascender into the kit all housed in a small stowage bag.
