CAD Engineering
AYD utilize a number of 3D design and CAD packages such as Solidworks™ and Solidthinking™ throughout the development phase providing model driven solutions for design, function and purpose.
AYD designers provide full technical file preparation and authoring of all designs at all stages of the development process into manufacture.

Prototyping
AYD are able to provide model to hard copy designs 3D commercial quality printing in several polymer materials, 3D print to cast option and third party rapid prototyping.
AYD also provide in house textile facilities for Computer sewing and embroidery for softgood designs and client branded solutions for marketing and pre-production acceptance.

AYD have invested and continue to invest in the multidisciplinary team and resources in order to produce cost effective prototypes capable to meet the demands of high reaction clients.
With the ability to produce prototypes from an internal base we can quickly turn design models into hard copy product for testing and marketing input, reaching the end product quickly whilst allowing tooling manufacturers to have translucent hard copy models as well as computer versions reducing tooling delays and cost.

Product Testing
AYD are able to static test components and products to meet International standards on horizontal test rigs, as well as vertical testing rig, furthermore, AYD has three vertical test towers for dynamic testing and proving of products.
Where testing requires extended drops then AYD has developed relationships with others for this purpose where drops up to 160 meters are achieved.

AYD has invested in test torsos and dummies for carrying out testing to International standards including European and North America. With multi input data acquisition equipment and software we are capable of recording and reporting on multiple inputs (Force, Temperature) in static and dynamic tests.
With test weights ranging from 30 kg to 150 kg and Torsos from 30 kg up to 160 kg AYD has the ability to perform a wide variety of tests.
In the specific area of descent devices then several test rigs have been developed to enable the real time recording of descent speed over long distances and with different masses together with temperature monitoring.
AYD engineers are at the for front of developing equipment to provide full real time descent simulation of designs prior to release. This ability carry out a variety of tests shortens the normal period from development to release date.

AYD contract manage tooling for moulding, casting and forging in order to provide cost effective and complete tooling solutions in component manufacture.
AYD also contract manage the complete manufacture and/or assembly process at third party or internal provision ensuring design to supply of product is kept to a minimal time frame.
